There are many different styles of batik, but the process -- whether drawing (tulis) or stamping (with a tjap) --  is a method of dying and creating patterns and designs by coating with wax the part of the material not to be dyed - and repeating this process as colors and design elements are added.

Still peacocks and swirling vines are featured on these hand screen printed* Indonesian fabric pillow covers. One peacock on the front, and two on the back of each pillow.
